Soapwort Gentian, Bottle Gentian
Gentians are found in moist meadows, on wooded slopes and damp roadside ditches. This is a long-lived perennial with terminal clusters of vivid blue to purplish flowers. The corollas are tubular and seem closed even at maturity. The leaves are in pairs.
