Bulbous Buttercup
Buttercups grow in moist fields, ditches and swampland. A glabrous perennial, it often forms dense mats. It is a fiendish weed in the flowerbed because of crowding out of other plants. Blooms April to June, chiefly in the mountains and Piedmont.
