Summary:Indian Mound located on the bank of the Tennessee River at Florence, Ala. Postcard is cover of booklet containing the poem "Waumanona" by Elizabeth Lansford Edwards. Waumanona was a Chickamauga tribe chieftain and the poem tells the tale of the mound. The following description is included on the last page of the booklet: "The Florence Mound. From Moore's 'Mounds on the Tennessee River.' The mound beside the river at Florence is the largest mound on the Tennessee River. It is 42 feet high--quadrilateral, flat top, but not rectangular, one end being wider than the other. It is so steep as to be ascended only with difficulty."
