Mary Alice Abernathy Meyer graduated from Jacksonville State University on January 23, 1970 with a B.S. degree in Medical Technology. She spent 12 months as a student medical technologist at Birmingham Baptist Hospitals her senior year. In 1976 she graduated from Texas A&M University with an M.Ed. in Allied Health Education. In 2002 she then graduated from Assemblies of God Theological Seminary with an M.A. in missiology.
