He was told to leave town in 1963 by Bull Connor, who had cost him his teaching job at Councill School. Jesse went to Flint, Michigan. He returned in 1970, There’s also a picture of John Streeter in this issue as he was an editorial writer for the Birmingham Times. Source uncertain." |
