Description
Summary:Box 4 Folder 16: "Folder 16 contains an extraordinary find...Hooper radio ratings from the period September through November, 1962. The documentation is so important that the entire book is shared. At least two significant facts unearthed. The first is the comparison between WJLD and WENN, one old to the market with an icon, Shelley Stewart and the other new to the market with a new name, "Thin Man" moniker for Maurice King. The ratings show Thin Man doing AM drive and a sign-off show for WENN (WENN was a daytimer meaning signing off at sun down). They also show Shelley Stewart doing a similar set of shifts for WJLD. The three month average (Sept-Nov, 1962) actually shows evening WENN coming in 4th in listenership for the entire market. The original was found at an antique mall in Hoover where Joe Rumore's memorabilia was displayed. Bob Gilmore had the booth and made copies, going so far as to seek out the proper paper color. Thank you Bob."
