As years passed, its overcrowded collection exceeded 1.5 million books. From 2nd edition, 1996, page 302: Groundbreaking came in spring 1988 for the mammoth $20.5 million addition to Ralph Brown Draughon Library. With formal dedication in November 1991, the size of the library had been more than doubled, to a total of 380,000 square feet.
