Summary:This image is a photograph used in the book Auburn, a Pictorial History of the Loveliest Village by Mickey Logue and Jack Simms, 3rd edition, 2013, depicting the history of the city and the University. From page 302: In 1912, the campus library, Mary Martin Hall, housed 15,000 books. When Draughon Library was built in the early 1960s, it was designed to hold 900,000 volumes. As years passed, its overcrowded collection exceeded 1.5 million books. From 2nd edition, 1996, page 302: Groundbreaking came in spring 1988 for the mammoth $20.5 million addition to Ralph Brown Draughon Library. With formal dedication in November 1991, the size of the library had been more than doubled, to a total of 380,000 square feet.
