Summary:This image is a photograph used in the book Auburn, a Pictorial History of the Loveliest Village by Mickey Logue and Jack Simms, 1st edition, 1981, depicting the history of the city and the University. From page 8: The Auburn Knights Orchestra was organized on a permanent basis in 1930. Within a few years it was playing at campuses throughout Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi. Jazz clarinetist Gerald Yelverton, standing fourth from left in front of bus, played with the Glenn Miller Band after graduation in 1938. Others were from left, same row, Joe Mitchell, Herc Barnard, Julian Van Hodges, and Toby Griffith; on bus, Robin Russell, Chick Hatcher, Hilding Holmberg, Ed Wadsworth, Frank Speight, John Ivey, and Mike Ellis.
