He was a consensus All-American fullback that fall and the first player selected in the NFL draft. He played seven seasons with the New York Giants. In addition to being a powerful runner, at Auburn he was a two-time winner of the Jacobs Blocking Trophy, awarded annually to the player selected as best blocking back in the South. ...
