Summary: | This image is a photograph used in the book Auburn, a Pictorial History of the Loveliest Village by Mickey Logue and Jack Simms, 3rd edition, 2013, depicting the history of the city and the university. From page 243: Coach Ralph Jordan described Tucker Frederickson in 1964 as "the most complete football player I have seen." He was a consensus All-American fullback that fall and the first player selected in the NFL draft. He played seven seasons with the New York Giants. In addition to being a powerful runner, at Auburn he was a two-time winner of the Jacobs Blocking Trophy, awarded annually to the player selected as best blocking back in the South. ...
