Relict Trillium
This rare perennial herb blooms in early spring with flowers that are greenish to brownish purple. It is listed as "Endangered" by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Relict trillium is found in mature, moist, undisturbed hardwood forests. Most sites are free from fire.
