Erect Trillium

This plant is frequently called Stinking Benjamin because of its fetid odor, but it is a beautiful flower, in colors of red-brown, maroon, purple or white. The stamens are maroon or yellow, with exposed pollen. The leaves are sessile and pointed. It blooms in early April.
