Wedge-petal Trillium
The clear deep maroon petals are wedge-shaped or spatulate--widest above the middle. They are sometimes 3 inches long. The lanceolate sepals are usually purple stained. This trillium is said to have a banana-like fragrance. Occasionally, a yellow form can be found.
