Summary: | Henry Clay Burr (on the right) and William Cunningham McMillian (on the left) were students at the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Alabama (now Auburn University) in 1893. Burr, born in 1874 to Chauncey Salmon Burr and Emma Irene Little, was from Griffin, Ga. and left after his sophomore year in 1893. He later worked as a bookkeeper in Kirkwood, Ga. and Atlanta, Ga. and died in 1949. McMillian graduated in 1895 and was from Talladega, Ala. Male students were called cadets and participated in military training in addition to their studies. They were required to wear gray military uniforms.
