Transcription of a letter from Pierre Le Moyne d'Iberville to Ensign Sauvole, commandant of Fort Maurepas.
The letter instructs Sauvole to deliver another letter to the governor of the Illinois Territory, and it describes the Bayogoula, Ouma, and Acansa Indians and their mapping skills. (The original document was housed at the Archives Nationales in France.)
