Summary:(No original photograph is known to exists. Retouched photograph to indicate rank of brigadier general.) Mexican War veteran. Active in the Virginia state militia; appointed as a colonel in the 12th Virginia Infantry in May 1861. Promoted to brigadier general in July 1864. Major campaigns and battles include Seven Days', Second Manassas (wounded), the Wilderness, Petersburg (wounded), and Appomattox. After the war, Weisiger returned to Virginia, where he worked as bank cashier and businessman. He died in Richmond, Virginia, in February 1899 and is buried in Petersburg, Virginia.
