Promoted to brigadier general in the Confederate Army in October 1862. Major campaigns and battles include Pea Ridge, Corinth, and Prairie Grove. Left the service in 1864 for personal reasons and moved to Canada with his family. After the war, Frost returned to St. Louis, Missouri, where he became a farmer.
