Donald Comer, Tom Field, and Jack Granberry, cadets at the Bingham School in Asheville, North Carolina.

Comer was from Barbour County, Alabama; Field was from Calvert, Texas; and Granberry was from Columbia, Tennessee. Comer's family owned Avondale Mills, and his father, Braxton Bragg Comer, was the governor of Alabama from 1907 to 1911.
