U.S.S. Drexler, Launched 3 Sept. 1944, Bath Iron Works.

Eugene Camp Hicks served aboard the Drexler during World War II; he and his wife sent this postcard to his parents on November 5, 1944. Hicks was killed when the ship was sunk off the coast of Okinawa by Japanese suicide planes on May 28, 1945.
