| Summary: | In this interview, Ada Tolbert recalls attending Industrial High School, later called Parker. She explains that they were taught a good balance of regular academic subjects and practical skills. They took such classes as cooking and sewing (for the girls) and carpentry and printing (for the boys). She also remembers being taught by later famous musicians Fess Whatley and Malachi Wilkerson. Tolbert herself eventually became a teacher. She taught at the Slate School and also at several company schools.
