Caption: Gang with my 7 foot python (Masacuate), which we caught near El Mamey de la Mar, V. C., Mexico. This is a young specimen, the adults often attaining a length of 25 feet. Pythons swallow chickens, rabbits, deer, young sheep, calves, etc. Have 6 long fangs (no poison ones) in the upper jaw, which slides back and forth along the lower jaw. In swallowing, the animal is first crushed, then pulled inside by these fangs, the lower jaw saw-teeth holding each advance. Is a highly specialized animal. L-R.
