The State Capitol of Alabama, Montgomery, Alabama

The central portion of the building was built in 1850, the South Wing in 1907, and the North Wing in 1911. In this building the Confederate Government was organized in 1861. Montgomery was the Capital until 18862 when it was moved to Richmond, Virginia.
