Summary:"’Little Jerusalem’ was the early name of these miniatures built on the Brothers’ Recreation Grounds. In 1933 transferred to the present site and now known as the Ave Maria Grotto, a wonderland in miniatures. It has attracted more than a million visitors from all parts of the world, and only recently a committee of Communists from Russia. The Grotto is one the campus of St. Bernard College and Seminary, about 56 miles north of Birmingham on Highway 31 and 65.”
