Summary:Interview of Virginia Eagles DeTurk on November 11, 1985. The interview was conducted by Rebecca Thomas. Virginia Eagles DeTurk was the daughter of Howard College Professor Theophilus R. Eagles, who was a faculty member from 1913 until his death in 1938. DeTurk was a student at Howard College during the late 1920s, early 1930s. While a student at Howard, DeTurk was active in drama circles as the manager and actor in several plays. She was also the editor of the Howard Crimson student newspaper. In the interview, DeTurk discusses her early life, her father's career at Howard College, and her experience as a Howard College student. She also discusses her life after graduating from Howard College.
