Summary:Letter dated June 10th, 1856. Letter was written by Cornelia to her mother. The letter discusses Cornelia's whereabouts and travels. The letter also mentions the July 4th, 1856 commencement ceremony of the Tuskegee Female College, which was the first class of graduates of the College. Only three women graduated from the College in 1856. Founded in 1856, Tuskegee Female College would later move to Montgomery and become Huntingdon College. Cornelia Brookes was one of the daughters of Baptist clergyman and planter Iveson L. Brookes.
