Scythe in the Oak Tree in Elyton, Birmingham, Alabama
The Scythe. The scythe in the oak at the old Green House in Elyton. A legend is that a boy going to the Confederate Army placed it there to remain until he returned. He never came back. The tree was cut down to make place for the Elyton Housing project and the relic came down with it.
