Mobile Mardi Gras,

Mobile's African American Mardi Gras organization, known as the Mobile Area Mardi Gras Association, was founded in 1939. Each year it crowns King Elexis I and his queen, who rule over a fortnight's festivities. Tammy Conway, pictured here, was queen of the 1995 MAMGA season.
