Printed on back: 'This outstanding old building on Royal Street between Church and Government Street bears the impressive title of City Hall and Municipal Building - but to old Mobilians the place is more familiarily known as "The Old Southern Market." It was built in 1858 and for years on end it offered to a city of gourments the most choice fruits, vegatables, meats, fish, and game.
