The Van Antwerp Building was Mobile's earliest "skyscraper" and gave Mobilians theur first opportunity to see their city as the birds see it. From the top of the building may be seen the port and harbor of Mobile, Mobile Bay, the city with its cathedral, churches, stores and dwellings and the satsuma groves on its western side. In the distance Spring Hill arises and to the north the Mobile River and the streams that flow into it. E. C.
