Summary:Boys Scouts line the ramp that was built for President Franklin Roosevelt's car to drive up on so he could enter Jasper First United Methodist Church to attend Speaker of the House Willam Brockman Bankhead's funeral. The front part of the ramp had to be built in one night, so that FDR's car could drive off the ramp instead of having to back down the ramp. Roosvelt's inspectors informed city officials that "President Roosevelt nor his car backs down from anything."
