| Summary: | The Athenian is student led campus newspaper for Athens State University, formerly called Athens Female Institute, Athens Female College, Athens College, etc. This bulk of this collection spans 1901 to 2018. The newspaper covers topics related to University students, staff, faculty, administration, events, and programs. The campus paper has been titled “The Athenian,” with the exception of the years 1931 - 1949 where it was title “The Crow’s Nest” and in 1963 where it bore the name “The Searcher” and “…the Newspaper.”
The newspapers were digitized and made accessible online thanks to the generous donation of Mary Elizabeth Partin.
