Description
Summary:This is a newspaper advertisement for the sale of "six likely and valuable negroes" issued by O.A. Rolfe, who lived just north of LaGrange. Among those for sale were two blacksmiths and three young women--two of whom were good "cotton pickers" and one a "very good house servant, (perhaps inferior to none)." Also for sale: a child. Rolfe further advertised that he would hire "seven very valuable negroes" in addition to the people he wished to sell.
