Higher Percentage of Negro Voter Registration Per Capita in Lauderdale County than White Registration
A May 21, 1959 Florence Herald report that a recent survey indicates that, out of 17,000 registered voters in Lauderdale County there is a higher percentage of registered black voters (20%) per capita than registered white voters (13.4%) per capita.
