A Thursday, June 4, 1964 Florence Herald report that Florence native PFC Robert L. Noel, US Army, a son of Mrs. Susie A. Rolet of Florence, was currently participating in Operation Desert Strike, a joint Army-Nany maneuver in the tri-state area of Arizona, California and Nevada.
