A Friday, April 3, 1931 Florence Herald report of the shooting of African-American Roy Burge with a .45 caliber Winchester rifle by African-American George Vaniger, when Burge allegedly tried to break into Vaniger's house on the corner of Seminary and Limestone Streets.
