Summary:Awarding of honors to the Jacksonville State College ROTC was held during ROTC Awards Day ceremonies May 8, 1959. Cadet 1st Sgt. Joseph R. Lambert received a plaque for marksmanship. The plaque was presented by Perry W. Bethea, Jr., vice commander of the American Legion. Larry K. Martin received a .22 rifle from American Legion Post No. 57. That rifle was presented by J.M. Caldwell, commander of the post. Far right Cadet Cpl. Thomas B. Coggin received a .22 rifle from the First National Bank of Jacksonville. That rifle was presented by T. Weller Smith.
