Summary:Photo circa 1835-1908 (subject's life span). A seated man in a dark three-piece suit and thin bowtie with his left leg crossed over his right and vest partially unbuttoned. Charles Pelham was the oldest brother of John Pelham. He practiced law in Talladega, Alabama beginning in 1858. He joined the Confederate Army in 1862 then returned to his legal practice and served as judge of the tenth judicial circuit of Alabama, 1868-73. He served as a US Congressman, 1873-75, then resumed his law practice. (circa 1860s) [donated by Laura W. Henry]
