She taught in the Anniston City and Calhoun County school systems. She was a first grade teacher at the Sixth Ward and Woodstock schools in Anniston, and was principal and teacher at Blue Mountain Elementary School from 1924 to her retirement in 1962. Following her retirement from Blue Mountain, she taught at the Episcopal Day School from 1962 to about 1971 when she retired again.
