I. Greenleaf, owner of Profile Cotton Mill. Clay Hammett, identified in this photo as a 17 or 18-year-old Profile player, is the source of the descriptive information (obtained in 1992 when he was 80 years old). Hammett (residing at 303 Forney Ave. SW, Jacksonville as of 8 April 1991), noted his brother, "Boss" Hammett, in civilian clothes, second from left, who was premier catcher in baseball in Calhoun County for decades, was in civilian clothes because he had jammed a finger in a game the previous week. Both Branes Bennett and Earl Hawkins were players with the Swann Chemical Company, a previous name for Monsanto, but were playing for Profile the day the photo was taken. One of them, a catcher, replaced "Boss" behind the plate. Earl Trammell (in sweater) was a student at the State Teachers College in Jacksonville. Hammett was unsure of the spelling of Bennett's name -- a given name of Branes, or a nickname, "Brains." Information obtained by D. H.
