Smoake accepts a plaque which designated First Platoon, Co. A, as the outstanding platoon. The presentation is made by Dean Leon Willman. Standing right are Billy Arnold, holding a plaque, and Eugene Gates, holding trophy. Cadet Captain Billy R. Arnold accepted the plaque which designated Co. D as outstanding in the Cadet Battle Group. Cadet Eugene Gates was awarded The Cadet of the Year trophy.
