Summary: | Mason Hall and Rowan Hall were two new buildings at Jacksonville State College (now Jacksonville State University) dedicated October 6, 1963. Mrs. Walter Mason accepted honors on behalf of the late Walter Mason, who passed in 1959. Walter Mason came to Jacksonville in 1945 and rose to become chairman of the fine arts division, building music education in Alabama. He was Alabama Music Educators Association President at the time of his death. Wife Mary Mason was Transcript Clerk at JSC.
