You will find enclosed
in this a check upon [New] York for the
sum of Six hundred dollars,
Which you will please acknowledge
promptly. Your Sister
Elizabeth B Beckwith
No of [Check] on The Chemical
National Bank New York. No 7296.
I mailed this to Simon Selig of
Helena Ark on 28th day of Feb 1883
in payment of six notes which he hold
of mine. The six notes [are] for 1236$
or $206 six each. He being press[sic] for money
and being a friend made this proposition
by letter and I excepted and mail the check
