Dear Brother 1880
What is the matter that you
do not write. I have written three times since
I have been staying in town and go dayly[sic]
to the office without hearing from you.
are you sick or your family. if so can’t
I know it, and come to see you. write and
let me know if you are sick or I will try
to find out. When I get too uneasy I will
complain. I am well and will leave town
to-morrow but will have an opportunity to the
office on saturday & monday. by then I hope
to hear from you. My good __ are lying idle
only breathing out what they intend doing
mean while telling that you and myself have
defrauded her out of thousands. Mary wrote to
ted
me to day, saying more than one would be disappoin
I knew old Bill was fixing up for the lions
share. perhaps they are steaming up for the time
that I reach the country, then scare me so bad
that I will walk into measures. happy time they
will have of that. If allowable, & I was strong
enough, I would destroy all of old Bill’s
pelt. as it is, the laugh will be on my side.
They needn’t beat their gongs around me
