description Letter to Alexander W. Beckwith, Sr. from E.B. [Elizabeth] Beckwith dated 21 February 1890 [found in legal envelope to Elizabeth Beckwith dated 8 August 1871]Gravelly Springs 21 Feb 1890 My Dear Brother Yours & Johns letter received also a card on yesterday from John. Thank you both. I am much pleased to know that you are improving and have some respite from your worst suffering. And able to lie down again. I am steadily improving. The first day I tried the air set me back and I ached all over – but the use of a bag of hot salt brought me up again and out of bed. I shall not write you again from this place as I am soon to be in Florence You ask me to come up to see you and I am not prepared to leave Ala just now and cannot say how much money I may have to run about often. We are old enough to try to see much of each other. perhaps I may make some turn which enable me to come up at short intervals and see John & you. What you cannot help don’t trouble about I will get thro some way. Your Sister E.B. Beckwith
