Summary:Box 8 Folder 17: "Folder 17 is a 8x10 of Jesse Champion Jr. Jesse passed away prematurely. He was overweight, he had a great voice, he had a great singing voice as well, (like his dad) a very very lovely man. Spent the last part of his life writing for the Birmingham Times and also did a stint as a talk show host for Sound Off which was a talk show in the 1980s on WJLD. Also included in Folder 17 is Jesse Champion Jr.’s radio telephone operator’s permit, his FCC permit and has the date - January 17, 1986 - on it indicating when it was granted. Found at WJLD. Donated by Jesse Champion Sr."
