Box 3 Folder 10: "A pocket protector advertising Joe Rumore and Golden Eagle Table Syrup. Stations partnered with sponsors and gave out what are now called advertising specialties. This was part of a collection Candy West donated to the BBRM in 2015. Her grandfather was Jim Connolly, manager at WJLD in the 40's and 50's. When Joe Rumore's estate was bought, many such items were on display at an antique store in Hoover. I only bought one item - a radio rating book from late 1962 that showed activity at WJLD and WENN. It will be displayed in later boxes. Joe was at WJLD in 1942 and quickly moved to WAPI and then WVOK for many years." |
