In the downtown area of Bessemer. It’s a great front page. We have the rest of the paper that features stories about these folks in the archives already, in a larger box we haven’t done yet. The original of this was donated by Lora Walker. That was actually her maiden name. I don’t remember her married name, although it is also in a later file. (Lora Gary). We have a promo card of her from WJLD. Her mother laminated the newpaper and she brought it in. It was a great gift because it describes the staff and also some of the visitors to WBCO in downtown Birmingham. When you read Editor Robert Durr's international analysis, you realize how little has changed in the world." |
