Description
Summary:Box 2 Folder 32: "Folder 32 has a picture of King Porter during his time on the air at WJLD. He's displaying "Welcome Home" by T-Bone Walker, which was issued in September 1951. King Porter was a jazz and blues piano player and we have numerous pictures of him, some later than this one. Although these were given to us by Jim Connolly's niece, Candy West (may have been his grand daughter), which would have suggested a WJLD source. it is also true that Porter had a stunt at WBCO Bessemer and shows up on their promotional flyer in 1952."
