Description
Summary:Box 1 Folder 43: "Box 1 number 43 is a radio log from 1948, which shows 5 radio stations, the new addition being WTNB 1490 which was short-lived. There is nothing at that frequency in the city at this point. But as far as black programming is concerned, from 1948 the Atomic Boogie Hour is listed, the actual time, 5 PM in the evening. It does not appear, I’m looking at WSGN which used to have some black programming, obviously, perhaps at the 5 PM slot on Friday where it says echoes of the southern spirituals and then the groove, jam and jive, maybe that was black programming, maybe jazz at SGN, unclear. But the Atomic Boogie Hour is on on April 1, 1948."
